This closing is a perfect reminder that buying a home is a journey—and sometimes the house you’re meant to have isn’t the one you expect.

Last fall, these buyers came to me through a personal referral with a clear plan: find their next home by June, then put their current home on the market. We decided not to list their house until we had secured the right place to move, which gave us the flexibility to be patient and wait for the right opportunity.

We toured a lot of homes, wrote a few offers, and came up short more than once. There was always something that just didn’t feel quite right. As frustrating as that can be, I truly believe those moments happen for a reason.
